In August 2003, VanNetUg.ca and dotNetBC merged to form the .NET BC users
group. The new group was formed as a community of technology professionals to
facilitate learning and discussions about Microsoft .NET software development,
and the opportunities this new technology brings.

Mission Statement: To provide a forum where developers can meet others
of similar interests and discuss .Net related topics; facilitate the exchange
of knowledge, experience, information, & ideas; and explore the progression
of .Net technology.

Medhat Elmasry
President |
|
Medhat was born in Ethiopia. He holds a Masters Degree in Computing Science from
Bradford University, England. Medhat moved to Canada from Egypt with his wife, son, and daughter
in 1993. Since then, he has been developing and leading various software projects in and around Vancouver.
Some of his recent positions were:
Manager in Charge of Re-engineering at The Loewen Group;
Professional Services Manager overseeing 15 developers
at Inglenet Business Solutions; Software Engineer at Scan-It-First Technologies;
Systems Analyst at the Overwaitea Food Group; Data Analyst at Alderwoods Group; and Consultant at HSBC. Medhat is strong in analysis, data/object modelling
and internet-based technologies. He is currently a full-time
instructor at BCIT in the CST department, a partner in CityJobs.ca., and a consultant at SierraWireless Inc.

Nora Sabau

Nora Sabau has a Computer Science degree in software development, and certifications from Microsoft:
MCTS, MCPD. She is working as programmer analyst at BC Maritime Employers Association. www.bcmea.com.
She is one of the .NetBC user group leaders, and she is involved in the developers community.
