Topic: Google Tag Manager for Developers

Tag Management Systems are becoming more and more popular among cross functional teams, mostly for analytics data collection and marketing optimization. Among popular tag management systems, Google Tag Manager (GTM) is the most known and used.

GTM has proved to be a persistant player in the market. The tool is free for the most part, and ships with a very simple and intuitive user interface. Its simplicity however, can be a good reason for one to always scratch the surface and never dive into its powerful complexities for advanced use cases.

This workshop is designed, using real life examples, to give you a deeper understanding of GTM and show you how to best utilize it in your organization across your development environment, marketing, IT, and other teams.

Your take away:

  • Review GTM fundamentals, data layer object and data model
  • Properly manage User Access in GTM
  • Install GTM on a website
  • Work with Tags, Triggers and Variables
  • Debug GTM installation and implementations
  • Port GTM Containers
  • Branching in GTM; use it across big/distributed teams
  • Version control in GTM
  • Build organization-wide GTM standards

Demos in this workshop will be provided on web, however most of the concepts, techniques, and practices also apply to native app development.
